This class will touch on different mediums of art, studying different tools, materials and their uses, and experiment with different techniques and styles of creating art. We will experiment with print making, fabric dying, paper marbling, collage, watercolors, pattern transfer, acrylic paint, alcohol inks, and more!  We will take an occasional break from our art journals and canvases to work on other art project with glass, ceramic, fabric, and wood throughout the year.

Supplies Needed: Students will need a mixed media art journal (I recommend a 9″x12″ Strathmore 400 Series or 500 Series) and students will need to bring their journals to class weekly.

Grades: 2nd-4th
Monthly Cost: $40

Materials Fee: $45
Time: 1:10-2:00

Our beginner group ukulele class is ideal for kids who have never played an instrument before and want to start learning what music is all about! It's also great for kids who already have played other instruments and want to learn something new. With ukuleles just the right size for our elementary schoolers, we'll be learning about learning chords and rhythms. And, of course, we'll learn how to play some very fun songs and sing along! We'll also be doing activities together and playing games that help us learn about other musical concepts like music theory, instrumentation, or rhythm. I'm looking forward to rocking out on the ukulele together this year!

Ukuleles will be provided in the classroom. It would be great if you wanted to purchase one for your child to practice on at home as well, but it is not required."

Guitar and piano lessons  - All ages:

ake.willis05@gmail.com
Monthly Cost: $75
Materials Fee: $55
Time: 10-10:50, 11-11:50, 12:10-1:00

Individual lessons are available for both piano and guitar. These lessons will be split with another student over the course of the 50 minute block. Each student will receive 25 minutes of uninterrupted lesson time with the instructor, during which time, the other student will be working, with headphones, through a self-guided activity to help them grow as a musician (this could be a new finger exercise, chord progression, a set of pages in a music theory book, etc.). This is a fantastic way to receive private music lessons at a very affordable cost. An instrument to practice on at home is required, but there will be guitars and pianos on-site. It’s open to all, but space is very limited and is first-come-first-serve.

We'll play fun early learning instruments, sing songs, and explore how music connects everyone to the world around us. This is a fun class that you just don't want to miss. A great standalone option, but this can also work as a wonderful companion course to any early-learning music programs at home.

Let's break a leg! Intro to Musical Theatre seeks to build confidence and discipline in students by helping them to overcome stage fright and develop their sense of self-worth. We will teach them how to blend the arts of acting and character development with vocalization and music appreciation. Intro to Musical Theatre shall focus predominately on expanding singing, acting, and movement skills by using a variety of performance styles. Students will learn their personal voice type and be able to sing different kinds of songs. They will learn lyrical analysis as well as how to communicate a story through song and physical expressions. By the end of the course, students should be able to identify the intricacies of character and plot movement in stage plays. Because this course creates an ensemble performing group, a sense of teamwork is important and will be discussed often. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore one another's ideas through discussions and critiques. Come join us on stage, and, at the end of the year, enjoy LC3's first theatrical performance!

**Students will need a composition book and writing utensils for this class as well as comfortable clothing. Water bottles are encouraged, but students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Laptops and headphones are NOT allowed.**
