Science and Social Studies: This introduction to science and social studies will give your little ones the opportunity to have fun exploring God’s creation as they learn scientific concepts. Topics are chosen thematically centering on the changing seasons and holidays so preschoolers and kindergartners can easily connect what they’re learning to the world around them. Some of the science topics we will explore are apples, pumpkins, leaves, water, the body, weather, seasons, plants, seeds, insects, animal habitats and summer safety. In addition your child will have fun learning about holidays and key historical figures that we take days to celebrate during the calendar year. We will look at Thanksgiving, Christmas, MLK Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, St. Patricks Day and Easter. Lessons will engage students through stories, experiments, crafts, educational videos, and games. A couple times a year extended learning opportunities will be sent home so you can reinforce concepts in class. These opportunities are optional and meant to support your family learning.
